About MCRES
Mallaiah Center for River & Earth Sciences (MCRES) is a growing scientific research centre inspired by the vision to understand our rivers as living systems and our Earth as a dynamic archive. We study how rivers shape landscapes, how landscapes influence water, and how human actions transform both. Through field research, geospatial science, and community engagement, MCRES creates knowledge that helps protect water resources and build climate-resilient futures.
Institutional Vision
MCRES aims to develop into a multidisciplinary research and scientific knowledge institution dedicated to understanding river systems, Earth processes, environmental change, and their interactions with human society.
MCRES will combine field-based research, scientific analysis, geospatial approaches, evidence synthesis, scientific documentation, education, and public science communication to generate knowledge that contributes to sustainable management of rivers, landscapes, water resources, and the environment.
